Patrick Topping is set to headline a special all-day event celebrating 15 years of Shangri-La, marking a major milestone for the Welsh party brand.
The anniversary will take place on April 11th at Depot Cardiff, running from 3PM through to 11PM, with Topping delivering an extended headline set.
The event represents a full-circle moment for Shangri-La. The story began back in 2011, when founders Nick Saunders and James Cromwell—then students at Cardiff Metropolitan University—launched the night at the now-closed GLAM nightclub.
By hosting events on midweek Wednesdays, the crew managed to attract high-profile artists without the premium costs of weekend bookings. Patrick Topping himself was among the first names to play at the party, making his return for the 15th anniversary especially symbolic.
Over the years, Shangri-La has grown into a key player in Cardiff’s electronic music scene. The anniversary edition will now take over Depot, a 2,100-capacity venue founded by Saunders himself, highlighting the brand’s evolution from grassroots beginnings to large-scale events.
Following the April celebration, Shangri-La will continue its 2026 run with an open-air event at Cardiff Castle in June, featuring Chris Stussy.
